Hleb Joining Inter This Sunday?

Italian giants Inter Milan are reportedly closing in on Arsenal midfield maestro Alexander Hleb.

The Guardian says the Serie A champions and current league leaders have tracked him for some weeks and made it clear that they are prepared to offer him a substantial increase on his £50,000-a-week Arsenal wage. Hleb has been tempted.

It has not gone unnoticed by Inter that the Belarus international has the option, under Article 17 of Fifa’s transfer regulations, to buy out the remaining two years of his Arsenal contract and leave for rather less than the £11.2m that the club paid for him in 2005.

Meanwhile, The Times says Hleb has confided in several of his team-mates that he is planning to join Inter Milan and his representatives are understood to have agreed a four-year deal with the Italian champions.

According to separate sources close to The Gunners, Hleb is planning to say his ‘Goodbyes’ to his teammates this Sunday when they play out their final game of the season at Sunderland.

What do you think? Will Hleb follow in Flamini’s footsteps and join an Italian side? Or will the Belorussian continue stay loyal and stay at the club?

He can,t buy out his contract until he,s 28 . That,s another year from now , so stop printing crap when you havn,t bothered to read the rules . Also Arsenals policy is to offer 1 year extensions on contracts over 32 and not 30 as you keep repeating . Don,t be a total pratt and in future do your homework .

  2. Sue Says:

I’m fed up with all this will he wont he leave. He has two years left on his contract. Arsene has already said he isn’t going anywhere. Sorry but its time Inter were reported for tapping up…..they have taken the micky long enough.

  3. Gooner Chris Says:

Mark, I’m a 15 year old lad, important exams coming up, and your nit picking me for the smallest of details in an article, sorry If i made a mistake.. but calling me a prat??!! Grow up mate.

  4. Bob Says:

If he wants to go, let him go. It’s hardly Lennon leaving The Beatles is it? He has had on decent season and I dont want anyone at Arsenal who doesn’t want to be there, having said that, Wenger will have to move to replace both Hleb and Flamini in the summer, which I am sure he will do.

  5. Matt Says:

Don’t really care if he leaves, yes he is a great player but he never scores and provides few assists, we won’t miss him as much as we all think we might. Rosicky is better than Hleb, only problem is that he’s always injured… He has the ability to score long-range goals and we really need someone like that, we have him now we must just keep him fit. We are always faffing around the edge of the box, we need someone who can bang them in regularly, we were shooting from outside the 18yard box regularly earlier in the season, especially Cesc, he scored some grrat goals this season. …

In my mind, like Flamin, he is definatly replacable… Ben Arfa seems to be comming in on the left, Walcott will become a regular next season and we will have Vela avalible. All we need is a solid centre-half, solid central midfileder and then we’ll win things!

    Team for Next year:
    Almunia
    Sagna Toure Clichy
    Walcott Cesc Ben Arfa/Vela
    Adebayor van Persie.

  6. Kj Says:

Did you see the face on him during the parade on Sunday afternoon? He looked like a slapped haddock. Matty Flamini was trying to cheer him up but he looked as though he would rather have been anywhere than the Emirates ….

Will he be a loss anyway? He is brilliant at getting the ball to the edge of the box, then dicks it around — every time!

  7. asian beast Says:

    LET THEM GO……
IT’LL MEAN A MUST SPEN FOR WENGER.

We must have match winning players like Ribery or Ben arfa or up coming talents like Nuri Sahin 9more GIFTED then Pato).

To the ARSENAL WOMEN WELL DONE. Now don’t forget your M A I N,duties CLEANING, IRONING & COOKING.

  8. herdee string Says:

Hleb is a scumbag - fuck him. Great player? Nah - DENNIS was a great player. This guy is an Eastern bloc shithead. Fuck him, fuck Flamini…

  9. Theeeeo Says:

Mark you are wrong. Players between 23 and 28 can buy out their contracts after being with a club for 3 years, which Hleb has, for players over 28 it is only 2 years.

Maybe you should stop being a prat and do your homework in future :)

  10. Tras Says:

He is meant to be a attacking midfielder, yet Walcott has scored more goals in a lot less games!

  11. Gooner Chris Says:

    Cheers Theo :D

  12. Sam Says:

Mark Mik - you’re being the ‘total prat’ as you obviously don’t know your arse from your elbow.

There is no age limit regarding the buying out the remainder of your contract issue. Hleb (who is under 2 8) can buy out the rest of his contract as he has been at the club for 3 years.

Those who are over the age of 28 can buy out their remaining contract after 2 years.

Do some research. If you can’t be bothered don’t waste people’s time uploading your crap on the Internet. There is enough shit printed as it is. How do you expect people to want to read what you write when you don’t even understand the basic transfer rules. Without credibility you are nothing.

  14. besarosicky Says:

I dont want Hleb to leave . He is very important for us ,and I think he should stay here. Its true Rosicky is better than Hleb , Hleb don’t score goals but he is very important there in RMF !

  16. doublegooner Says:

Fuck Hleb, sell him & collect what we can now, he can walk & will not extend any contract. He’ll be worth fuck all next year & you can guarantee he’ll have flattered to deceive once again.

His meeting with Inter at the time we had a massive game was disgusting to the club & the fans. He has been the type of player with no backbone, who never plays well unles the team plays well, never dominates. He;s unable to have an effect when the team’s needed that inspiration.

Well documented his poor goal & assist stats. Rosicky, if you manage to stay fit for more that 3 games in succession, take note.

  17. Simon Says:

Maybe dentinho will fill Hleb’s position, or maybe Eboue will be a permanent fixture for years and years to come?!

  18. mmusi Says:

Nuri Sahin is more skillfull than Hleb and he is only 18 or so.
See this lad he is bad news. If Wenger can get him which I think he will-then arsenal is set for 5 more years of dominance.
How many of you had of Antonio Reyes coming to Arsenal until he had signed the deal? Big things are on the way and mind you, Wenger will deliver.

  19. AA Says:

Oh dear dear Mark you are indeed an idiot, but in evolutionary terms even you are light years ahead of the neanderthal asian moron…

Asian moron - try to learn to write proper english before you denigrate (look it up) those who have not only already mastered this language, but have also reached the top in their field and have, in some cases, been awarded the MBE for their achievements. Don’t waste valuable time demonstrating your pitifully low I.Q. Haven’t you got some evolving to be getting on with?

  20. vf gooner Says:

he’s a cunt like that flamini if he goes we could ave kept diarra better than that stupid french prick

  21. real gunner Says:

hleb can go away if he wants..i hate his style most of the times..he just loves to keep the ball and drag the ball too long..he hardly scores..well, let him go to inter and he can keep the ball for 90minutes and see what his manager will think of him..he’s weak too..

  22. Jason Says:

Guys, lets be fair and not attact Gooner Chris the Author of this, he is only reporting what so called professional writers have already spouted, keep up the good work Chris, you are not the lazy one, The Times and Independent are as I believe BOTH of them stated Hleb could buy out his contract, which is just shit /lazy journalism and general scaremongering of our great supporters and club, lets stick together as, lets face it, it IS us against the world..

  23. RVP Says:

Why is it always our best players we talk about leaving, why cant Eboue just go instead

  24. Gooner Chris Says:

Cheers Jason for the support, we’re all Gooners, we all stick together when the goings get tough. ;)

RVP.. well Wenger wants Eboue, so I don’t think he’ll go, but I expect a few players to come in of high quality otherwise I can see another 3rd place season ahead of us.

  25. RVP Says:

I think with a few minor tweaks we could be onto something special though, maybe just add a bit of strenght to our beautiful football like Mertesacker for CB, possibly Zapater for DM(i havent seen much of him but heard hes a ball winner with good stamina and strenght) and maybe Kranjcar. What does Arsene see in Eboue? he is useless

  26. Danish Gooner Says:

Get 15 million and let him leave.

  27. DaHustler Says:

Kick the little s**thead out, talking about he only went out for Ice Cream! Who was Hleb before he came to Arsenal, some punk in the german league! lol….make him jog on….he’s crap…can dribble…but thats all hes got to his game! GOONERS!

  28. Arse&Nose Says:

Mark Mik -your the prat, leave the blogger alone.

  29. jon cotterill Says:

If Arsenal are looking for new players, it might be an idea to look at this Brazilian: http://pitacodogringo.wordpress.com/2008/02/19/is-hernanes-brazils-best-midfielder-since-kaka/

  30. Sean Says:

If Inter want Hleb then we should say ok!£20million or we will go to court for tapping up!If found guilty Inter will get a one year transfer ban and lets face it Italian football could do without the bad publicity.

  31. Arsenal General Says:

Let Hleb leave as the other cunt did..money in thier mind, nothing else so Fuck off for the money!
Arsenal can replace both of them with and without buying!

    ARSENAL ROCKS!

  32. spurs smell like chicken poo Says:

“Why is it always our best players we talk about leaving, why cant Eboue just go instead”

    RVP your coment rocks.

  33. YOyo Says:

Nuri Sahin - I mean what’s wrong with all you guys. Do you think you’re talented football scouts who can just throw a random name in the mixer and wenger’s gonna go buy him. This is the problem with some of you guys you speak like you’re informing Wenger and the rest of our backroom staff!!

And As for Matt, unfortunately we haven’t signed Ben Arfa for next year and most probably aren’t! BTW football teams have 11 not 10 players lol!

  34. gunner 4 ilfe Says:

oh yes he is going to inter, some things you’ll guys just don’t know, arsenal have agreed a free with Inter, but they are just not saying yet. Its over the £10 mil mark.

Trust me i know, don’t ask how, just think of me as a source from the inside

  35. wilco Says:

I`d be worried about Fabregas, Hleb isn`t irreplaceable , he`s been tremendous this season in terms of dribbling skills , holding the ball and attracting the opponents , opening up spaces for other players. But in terms of goals he wasn`t that great , he scored 4 goals only, (the same number as Gallas!) , Walcott scored 6 goals , even the injury-prone Rosicky scored 7 goals, Fabregas scored 13 goals. Though I don`t have any numbers for the assists Hleb made I`ll check, but his goal-scoring wasn`t great.
I think we can afford to lose him , it`s the same for Flamini, yes he`s had a terrific season, his partnership with Fabregas was one of the reasons we went so far this season , but remember that we managed to replace Vieira by Gilberto (okay, he wasn`t as good as Vieira but he wasn`t bad either) , and Gilberto was replaced after by Flamini. And Flamini will be replaced by someone else as well, Wenger knows that!
He might buy another great central midfielder (who knew Sagna and Eduardo will be this good in their first season?) , and let us not forget that we`ve got Song and Denilson who are getting better and better after each game.
The problem we had this season was in our central defense, we`ve conceded 31 goals , while Man U only conceded 22, Chelsea 25, Liverpool 28.
In attack we were prolific, 73 goals scored , only Man U did better, they scored 78 , Liverpool 65, Chelsea…64. So I don`t think there is a need of buying another striker, Vela is coming back next season , Walcott has improved a lot, Bendtner scored 8 goals, not bad if you consider that he doesn`t start most of the games.
I don`t think we should sell Eboué, we need him in the squad, the same for Senderos and even Gilberto, I think he was tired after the Copa America and he never got his form back (and Flamini was simply better than him) , the same for Eboué and Touré they were exhausted the Africa Nations Cup 2008. To be honest Eboué didn`t play well as a winger after promising pre-season games, he`s not a natural winger , he`s a right-back but Sagna is simply better than him.
We had a good season , 83 points (if we beat Sunderland) is not bad at all , last year we finished 21 points behind Man U , and now we`re 4 points only behind them, that`s encouraging to me for the next season.
Congratulations to the Arsenal ladies on the Double, we`re proud of you, thanks Chris for your post.
Okay dear Gooners , I should stop now as this is getting too long.

  36. A.F.C Says:

Despite what people say, we have £360 million debt. So we have to respect the wages structure or we will go bust. Therefore it is not that you cannot respect the wages structure, we cannot afford not to do it.The simple fact is that even going out and buying a player, spending the money on a transfer fee and his wages over the course of his contract is the most cost efficient option.

  37. Ben Says:

The club actually has £376mil of debt but only £247mil of that is to do with the new stadium. £104mil of the debt is for the Highbury property development. Man U has ~£250mil of debt yet they can afford huge sums of monies for player transfers and wages. Arsenal’s ticket cost and total revenues are even more than Man U’s, so I ask you, do you think it’s fair that the current supporters effectively fund a property development for the Arsenal shareholders while their team wins nothing?

All this lack of spending on players means money that we pay to watch our team fail is going to reduce debt on the club. This mainly benefits the shareholders because when they finally sell, which I truely believe they will do, they’ll make more money. The other argument that they will never sell up, and the only reason they aren’t spending on players now is to make the club more stable by reducing the debt is bollocks. If that were true they would be suggesting that they’ll pay off all the debt, and then have HUGE (not big but HUGE) sums of money to spend on players EVERY year. Wenger would want that, that money will be leaving the club and lining shareholder pockets. Also the club is not stable by doing what they’re doing. We’ve had 2 years very close to losing CL qualification. That would truely fuck the club. I’ll be the first to admit that Wenger can perform miracles with no cash but it would take just one failed year to seriously damage the club. More of the club’s game revenue comes from Club level. Out of the CL and not challenging for the Prem and they’ll lose huge sums of revenue from gate, AND from TV, not to mention merchandise. Best way to secure Arsenal and make it stable is to ensure a strong and deep squad in quality and quantity. Lets hope the new MD comes in ASAP and sees it that way too.

  38. besor Says:

sell hleb now when we can still make some money out of it rather than let him go for free like flam in 2 years time. he is totally repla cable and we should get someone who do not afraid to shoot. we need a scoring midfielder on both flank. badly. hleb is not him and never will be.

  39. true speaker Says:

The fact that Jose is going there too means it is possible as JM likes to do things illegally

  40. Jarred Grimshaw Says:

If these spoilt gits want to leave then let them. You only have to look at hleb slapping the opposition player the other week, to possibly realise he had nothing to lose which makes me suggest he will leave. Not to mention the fact that one of the Arsenal shareholders emailed me and told me he heard this from someone within Arsenal. Nasri (cough cough)

  41. J.Sanderson Says:

In fact guys, Mark Mik was correct, even Wenger says so.

“”What people say about the buy-out clause, it is not as simple as it looks,” said the Frenchman. “It is much more difficult and the clubs are reluctant to do that [invoke the 'Webster Clause'].”

  42. Gooner Chris Says:

Thats exactly why I didn’t back up my case :P

  43. Colin Stevens Says:

    Gooner Chris.

First you tell us that Flamini was “STAYING” and now this.

Ur blog is an embrasment, All you do is use stuff from random links on the net. Give it up!!

I have sent News Now an email asking for this blog to be taken off as it is full of shit

  44. TheGooner Says:

Let’s be serious. If Hleb wants to go let him go. Wenger will unearth a new gem from somewhere!! Hleb has an excellent footwork but he is crap when it comes to score or to provide the final killer ball. The squad needs a good central defender with a quality substitute from the reserve team (Norveidt probably). Then we need a good central midfielder and a natural striker. Our cover will be from the reserve team, players like Randall, Gibbs, Bazarite, Merida, (from loan) perhaps Wiltshire will all soon move on. Let’s get rid of Eboue, Senderos and Gilberto. I seriously think that Huntelaar, Ben Arfa, Krancjar and Pjanic will be needed. We need to spend some money to bring in quality and experience. Although these players are relatively still young they have both elements.

  45. Goonerboy Says:

Good riddance to him. He is a squad player at best. Arseblogger sums it up best when he says 11 goals in 3 seasons from attacking midfield is not good enough!! Any player caught having an ice cream with the opposing team while on official duty with their club for a CL away game should be shown the back door. Where have all the goals from midfield gone i.e the Freddie days…. when we get these back we can challenge for the league.

  46. beanie Says:

wow all this uproar from a report from a 15 year old who has better things to do apparently. This report is a second hand version of something which was written as speculation in a daily tab. And you all bite. Maybe i could plagerise (that means copy 15 year old ) an article then ask people what they thought. If you are a genuine arsenal fan your only responce could be as follows. Looking forward to picking up the premier leage next year with the majority of the team that is still here. Come on you reds.

  47. Donjohnni Says:

I saw this coming a mile off. My girlfriend told me than Hleb and Flamini were sleazing all over her, touching her ass at this party in a club, and saying they always “do things together” - i.e. they were demanding a threesome with her during a boozy night out. They’re both scum. Flamini is the brain, Hleb is the donkey sitting in the background following his master. Hleb will follow Flam to Italy, my bet says.

  48. Gooner Chris Says:

    LMFAO Colin.

If you don’t like what you fucking read, don’t read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Flamini news was from another site: Clockender, which seemed like a reliable source. I took the risk, and made myself look like a cock, I admit that.

As for this news, I first looked at Arsenal.com then a separate blog to gather up information on it, I was wrong again.

Two articles which I have got wrong mate, I’ll reiterate the message.. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT.. DONT FUCKING READ IT. :)

  49. Rosey Says:

    Ben - Spot on. A

t last someone talking sense and not throwing around fantasy football players we should sign. We all know that you can pick the worlds best 11 players and win the league, ask Abramovich. In our case it is slightly different, money is not currently readily available for transfers. Those “fans” that want Hleb out, have either never played football, or if they have, they are now receiving counselling for being last pick at school. The guy adds more than goals, running off the ball, creating space for Cesc to run into behind and delivering deft passes more often than not, even if he is guilty of occassionally overplaying. The reason Wenger is so determined to keep this team together is we have had three years of transition and can’t afford another one or two. Tinkering is required, not an overhaul, but the sale of some deadwood would help to fund the Centre back, Centre midfielder and winger that we require.

As for commenting on the buy out clause, my advise is if you don’t know the answer, don’t use it to help your argument

  50. Gooner Chris Says:

    Thanks for the comment mate.

I agree with all of it, you’ve said everything which is true In a pleasant way, unlike Mark, Colin callin me a “prat” and a “wanker”

    Cheers. :D

  51. josh Says:

i hope he goes. he has great skills but doesn’t score enough. technically far better than ljungberg, technically on a par with pires but the above two guaranteed at least 10 goals each a season and Hleb barely guarantees 5. if we can get £10m for him that’s great business.

  52. steminar Says:

if asnere sells hleb he needs to buy a another player that is good

  53. Gooner Chris Says:

    State the obvious.. mate

  54. harryo Says:

pires was ten times the player. get rid of this mercinary and buy someone who wants to play for this great club. hleb and flamini are nothings whos only god is money.no heart no souls just money whores

  55. Raymond Says:

Wilco has done a wonderful job on his statistics and i would say that i cant give analysis more than he has done. If tomas rosicky were to be fit he would have been far preferable to hleb. So also buying out current is not as easy as you think it is. from what i think or gathered inter milan tried bribing and giving hleb money to buy out his contract which i feel is total disrespect. Every player still has a lot to offer . My signings would have been David ALbeda which would be leaving on a free transfer, Carlos vela returning, Agbonlahor if possible for 10 million euros, Makoun, Giberto should stay incase if makoun does not perform to expectation. Everyone shld stay they still have a lot to offer except Lehmann who his hanging up his gloves after the season.

  56. Hleb On His Way Out Says Agent « Gunners Live! Says:

  57. Latimer Says:

I would be glad to see hleb go. If hleb left then wenger would be forced to buy. With arsenal losing two starting midfielders wenger would be more likely to buy someone big and then someone small, Have the big player on the feild and small player on the bench while walcott takes helbs spot.
