Arsenal stars to feature in International friendly
March 20, 2008
Silky winger Theo Walcott has been included in Fabio Capello’s 30 man squad against France.
Walcott’s last inclusion in the England set up was in the 2006 World Cup where he sat on the bench for every one of the 5 games.
Will he start? It’s unlikely, David Beckham is back in the squad so he is the obvious favourite to take the right wing position. Theo could start as a centre foward, which could be interesting! Jermaine Defoe is my pick to play upfront, the former Spurs striker has been on fire for his new team Portsmouth. Maybe him and Theo could get a partnership going upfront?
Walcott gave his reaction to Arsenal.com:
“I celebrated my 19th birthday on Sunday so the call-up is a great birthday present for me.
“I am looking forward to meeting up with all of the lads after the weekend’s game.”
Great news for Theo and congrats to him!
