RVP: Back For Good?

Finally, Robin van Persie is back in the Arsenal squad. Back for good is the question most Arsenal fans are asking. Will he or won’t he stay fit?

Obviously, the first couple of games back for the former Feyenoord striker, have showed his poor match fitness, the Dutchman hasn’t played since October. But his stats say a lot, altogether this season Robin has scored 7 goals in 14 games - an amazing stat for an injury prone striker.

The player himself, at his best is one of the best strikers in the world. When fit, he has the world at his feet, but unsuprisingly, Robin isn’t always fit. Of course, Van Persie will come back stronger, but will he manage to get that goal scoring form he is so very much used to?

Gunners Live has translated a snippet of an interview from a popular Dutch newspaper in which Robin talks about his English and how he tries extra hard in life to succeed.

Here it is…

”I always feel I have to work twice as hard as other people to get what I want, and that, in my opinion, sometimes I deserve. It has always been like that in my career.

Maybe now I’m ready, but my feeling is that before I was ready. But somehow it has not happened.

I know that when you play really well, from experience, that feeling can go away after one game. So I have to be really focused.

I have been here for two years. I can understand when you come from a different culture, a different club with different ideas, you have to be patient.

But two years is a long time. The boss feels similar that I’m ready now.”

Gunners Live wants your opinions on RVP! Do you think he will firing on all cylinders next season? Or maybe there’s a possibility that another club could snatch him away from us?
